To say the words new and The Beatles in the same sentence is really a statement for all those fans our there. The Love album is a soundtrack compilation for the Cirque du Soleil show of the same name. The album was produced by George Martin, who produced nearly all of the Beatles' original recordings, and his son Giles Martin.

The genius in the album is not only the way the album runs together track after track but the ways that the Martin boys found to intertwine different song elements into a new re-imagining of these classic songs. On Get Back we get the opening guitar from A Hard Day's Night, the drum and guitar solos from The End, percussion from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise), and the orchestral swell from A Day in the Life. Strawberry Fields Forever builds from an acoustic demo and includes the orchestral section from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the solo piano from "In My Life", the brass included in "Penny Lane", the cello and harpsichord arrangement from Piggies and the coda of Hello, Goodbye. Drive My Car"/The Word/What You're Doing is a medley features the guitar solo from Taxman and the horns section from Savoy Truffle. Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows is a mash-up style track which combines the vocals from Within You Without You with the bass and drums from Tomorrow Never Knows. Lady Madonna has the original structure but also includes the guitar riff from Hey Bulldog, Eric Clapton's guitar solo from While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Billy Preston's organ solo from I Want You (She's So Heavy). All-in-all, it has been reported that Love contains elements from 130 individual recordings of The Beatles.

Unfortunately, you can not purchase the tacks individually but this is one album you must listen in it's entirety to really feel the love!

Pearl Jam's debut album Ten (Legacy Edition) was released on August 27, 1991 and since sold over 13 million copies and helped launch an entire musical movement. Before they were know as Pearl Jam, the band was touring under the name of Mookie Blaylock, a then professional basketball player. When they were signed and started working on Ten, it was suggested they find a new name that would not have possible copyright issues down the line. Jeff Ament liked the name "pearl" and they added the second have after the band saw Neil Young in concert jamming on stage. However, with a nod to Mr. Blaylock, Pearl Jam named their first album by his jersey number 10.

The iconic album spurned hits like Alive, Even Flow, Jeremy, Black, and Once. This re-release of Ten includes the entire album remastered as well as a second disc with a remastering and remix of the entire album by producer Brendan O'Brien, who has produced 5 Pearl Jam albums. A total of 13 of his albums produced have reached #1 in America. O'Brien's take on the album adds new depth to the music and a modern crispness on the tracks. At times his new mixes sound like a band of 10 musicians instead of just 5. The 2nd cd also includes a new mix on 6 additional tracks which is most notable on the raw take he puts on both State Of Love And Trust & Breath And A Scream, which were both previously unavailable in this demo form. Ten is the first reissue in a planned re-release of Pearl Jam's entire catalog that will lead up to the band's 20th anniversary in 2011 so I think we can look forward to much more remastering and remixing from Pearl Jam over the next 2 years. This is a great start!

Hootie & the Blowfish front man, Darius Rucker has gone country with his second solo effort. On Learn To Live, we get the his golden voice backed by traditional country music. Rucker co-wrote 11 out of the 12 tracks and has already scored 2 number 1 country hits with Don't Think I Don't Think About It and It Won't Be Like This For Long. Both are ballads which feature Rucker's distinct vocals and heart wrenching storytelling. Like This tells us "tt won’t be like this for long / One day soon that little girl is gonna be / All grown up and gone" which truly reminds us all how short life really is.

The album also features several great uptempo tracks including the latest single Alright, Forever Road, and the album's title track. On Learn he waxes on that "you gotta live to learn, you gotta crash and burn / you gotta make some stances, and take some chances / you gotta live and love, and take all life has to give / you gotta live and learn, so you can learn to live." And for those honky tonk purist Rucker even sprinkles in a few true country tracks like post break-up All I Want and the end of the night Drinkin' And Dialin'. These are just fun country songs that you can't but help to sing along to. If I were to buy just one country album this year, it would be Learn To Live.

Big Bad World is the 5th studio album from the Plain White T's but it is going to be considered their sophomore effort as a follow-up to 2007's Every Second Counts and their uber-popular hit Hey There Delilah. The T's open this record with a couple infectious sunny pop tunes like Big Bad World and Natural Disaster. These songs show case the T's ability to create radio-ready music and even something you can easily sing along to [Ohhhhhhh].

Deeper into the album you will find the much anticipated Delilah clone in the song 1, 2, 3, 4. While the comparisons are expected, 1, 2, 3, 4 is much more lyrically clever with words like "there's only one thing two do three words four you." The group continues there pursuit of love with the catchy [Do do do] That Girl and the very mellow Sunlight. I find this to be a solid album for a band that many had written off as a one-hit wonder and expect a couple more tracks to find there way to a radio station near you.

Eddie Vedder was hand picked by director Sean Penn to provide the music for the film adaptation of Jon Krakauer's popular book of the same name. Vedder delivers music and lyrics that totally connect with the story, the main character and the audience. The cover of Gordon Peterson's Hard Sun makes us think about how big and small the world is all at once. The song Society, co-written by Jerry Hannan, asks "but if less is more, how you keepin' score?" as a statement to our country's ever growing greed and want. These two songs provide the cornerstone for the overall tone and message of the album.

Woven into the 11 track album is the "score" of the film with haunting non-vocal tracks like The Wolf and End Of The Road which give you both the raw feel of the Alaskan wilderness and the loneliness of traveling it alone. Since this is Eddie Vedder's only solo studio album to date, this quick soundtrack is a must have for Vedder and acoustic fans alike,.
